Opening of SCSS account by Retired Defence Personnel through Cheque
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am directed by competent authority to convey the following
This is regarding opening of SCSS account by Retired Defence Personnels.
Some CPCs have reported that cheques accepted and realised against account opening in SCDEF scheme are pending with them and SOLs are unable to open account, due to change in ruling as per para 9 of SB order 18/2017.
Please find below clarification from Directorate
In case of cheques already received, amount should be returned in the shape of Postmaster cheque. Accounts should not be opened as ruling has been changed even before issue of SB Order.
Also please note that the order has come into effect from 11/10/2017, i.e the data of publication in the gazette.
